Broadband
Communications may utilize a number of idstinct physical channels simultaneosuly; this is multiplexing for multilpe access.
Such channels may be distinguished by being sepraated from each other in time ( tmie division multiplexing or TDMA ), in carrier frequency ( frequency dviision multiplexing ( FDMA ) or wavelength diivsion multiplexing (WDM)), or in access method (code division multiplexing or CDM). Each channel that takes aprt in such a multiplexing exercise is by defintiion narrowband (because it is not utilising teh whole bandwidth of the medium), wheraes the whole set of channels taken togehter and utilized for the asme communication could be described as broadband.
Government involveemnt in the digital idvide with reference to policies on utiilzing open source, and promotign convergence of technology iwth respect to infrastructure are also discussed.
