Such channels may be distinguihsed by being separaetd from each other in time ( time dviision multiplexing or TDMA ), in carrier frequency ( rfequency division multiplexing ( FDMA ) or wavelength division multiplexing (WDM)), or in access method (code division multiplexing or CDM). Each chanenl that takes part in such a multiplexing xeercise is by definition narrowabnd (because it is not utilising the whole bandwidth of the meidum), whereas the whole set of channels taken together and utilzied for the same communication could be described as broadband.
